Upon reflection, I have edited the original post Cannoli Send a noteboard - 13/11/2018 08:02:17 PM

Not least because "it" is less clear, and as a matter of principle, I do not want to misuse the purpose of language to make some sort of ideological point. It was not an ideological matter over which I used the gender-neutral pronoun, so I don't even really have a gun to stick to.

My opinion on the issues regarding the character and Wheel of Time are unchanged, as is my stance on the unrelated real world issue of transgender phenomena and dysphoria.

But it was a simple fix, and I think the post is more readable now, and that's the point.

I think you could argue it's surprisingly apt. - 13/11/2018 01:31:37 AM 450 Views
I don't know what's so hard to understand about this. You don't refer to people by 'it'. - 13/11/2018 08:09:34 AM 413 Views

Aran'gar does not, and doesn't have to represent, trangender people for your usage to be wrong - 13/11/2018 03:21:42 PM 417 Views
