But, as with minorities, women, and the poor, I don't think these paragons of leftist virtue give two shits about gay people deep in their hearts. We're a means to an end: power. Blue collar whites used to be a core constituency of the left, but as soon as some group more useful came along, it was fuck you whitey. Leftists screw blacks over in schools because the teachers' unions have money and power. They've been able to convince blacks that the leftist plantation is their only hope.

So, given that context, how can anyone be shocked at casual homophobia from them this group when it can be a useful tool of denigration, given that our society isn't yet fully evolved yet in dealing with homosexuals? I find the submissive aspects of gay sex quite thrilling, but not in a demeaning way. People using these terms and images to denigrate their opponents most certainly DO mean it to be demeaning.

Finally, the idea of people using "that sucks" or some such as being homophobic is ridiculous. No one thinks of men or women sucking dick when they say that. But, they most certainly do when people use the examples of Trump and Putin, because the speakers WANT them to and want them to be disgusted by it.
