It doesn't matter to them. The polarization of politics here is quite complete that there is almost no room for centrists or independent thought. The fact that Trump has the (R) next to his name is all that matters.
I am just hoping to see the House and/or Senate flip in 2018 so we have divided government here and then there can be greater checks on the executive.
Identity politics did not start with Trump.
This whole hype about children separated from their illegal alien parents did not start by a Trump decision to separate them, but a California court decision against the Obama administration. But if you listen to the media, Trump is finishing what Hitler started. How can any bipartisanship survive such a storm ?
"Hype". You mean travesty, right? This is Trump and Sessions completely here. Even within the Republican party they stand pretty much alone. There are some decisions of his that I have liked. Some I have not liked. Same for every president. But this?
To do this to families is deplorable.
In fact, over this particular issue, there is great bipartisanship. I expect Congress will fix this since the President appears to be about as obstinate as can be on this issue. I think he is using it as a bargaining chip frankly and hasn't realized how toxic this is.
