View original postIt does lead one to suspect that it is more about how they feel about Trump than what he is actually doing. The media has become this bitter old lady who hates her husband and finds reasons to hate everything he does. They have turned into shrews that most people are tuning out to even legitimate criticism. One think the Trump presidency has done is undermine what little faith I had left in our media.

We agree that the media are supposed to describe things as they are, right? And that it's not exactly their fault if Trump moved from one extreme to another without bothering to pause in the reasonable middle position inbetween?

There are valid arguments to be made about the media, their issues with narratives prevailing over facts, their biases, and so on. But the way they keep criticizing a president who keeps being terrible at his job, for the very simple reason that he started out unprepared and consistently refuses to be taught or to make an effort to learn, isn't among those. They should become more positive about him once he starts taking his job seriously - not before.
