On Venezuela, I think it would be an incredible waste of resources because it's going to collapse on its own anyway, and you're right that there's no military threat. It would also provide the neo-marxists in Latin America with more propaganda points about "yankee imperialism". However, I can see some circumstances in which we would intervene, mostly involving increased involvement by China in Venezuela. Having said that, I also don't see that happening because China also understands that you don't throw good money after bad.
