I'm strangely liberal about homosexual couples adopting. I see children being raised by people who love them as preferable to the Foster Care system. And contrary to what many on the Red side of the aisle believe, they will not "gay" up their kids. First off, we may be like our parents, but we don't turn into them. Secondly, if homosexuality is a genetic trait, it would be impossible to "gay" the kids up. And Thirdly, Children raised by parents who love them is preferable to the Foster Care system. Yes, I said it twice, but its that valuable that it needs to be said twice. I'm strangely on the fence about immigration. I'm just a few generations away from "undocumented Mexican-National" (or illegal alien, or whatever other term). Besides living less then an hours drive from the border, I find it very difficult to fault someone looking for a fresh start and a new life. I get both sides, but I'm conflicted. There are other, but let's keep this post rolling....
See...take this into account. I'm tired of tip-toeing around the world being worried what other nations think. I don't care! Either they like us, or they don't. Either way, they work with us, or they don't. If we go it ourselves, then fine. We pay more for it anyways...
Sure, the US has plenty of violent deaths. That's on us. We let our citizens have guns. And we have to pay the price for that freedom. I haven't looked at violent death/per capita stats lately, but I can say that I don't fear going to a cafe and getting blown up (Israel), or the subway (England, France), or a market place (Spain), or a concert (England).
And well...you can agree to disagree, but we're still putting our oxygen mask on first. There's nothing wrong with putting your own citizens first.
