England is only 4,000 sq. miles (figure out your own Kilometers) larger than Minnesota, where I live. Top to bottom it is a six hour drive. How have you not visited each other? I have friends in other states I see regularily and only have to drive a few extra hours than if I was driving to see family at the very top of my state (i live in the middle, roughly)
I don't give a crap about kilometres. Also do you mean England or the UK. Minnesota is pretty big, and England is the size of Mississippi, if MS had 45 million more people in it.
Let me tell you something. There is a vast difference between cruising down the interstate on a 12-hour drive from SC to Louisiana and sittin motionless on a motorway with 50 million other compadres. And that's just straight roads with no roundabouts. You cannot compare driving in the US to the UK. It takes half an hour to go 7 miles to Nottingham with minimal traffic. There is a town closer to me than that 4 miles, that takes just as long because of the shitty road layout. It's a 12-hour drive from central England to Inverness, Scotland.
Also gas is sold by the litre and taxed to high heaven. I think nossy lives in London. It would be easier to take a train there, if only I could afford it. I recently bought a train ticket for me and my grandmother that was more expensive than the 4-star hotel we are staying in!
So in short, we've never met. There's a lot of folk on this island
