I do guidance, navigation, and control analysis for launch systems and other projects.

I have my own 6DOF simulation and lead a small team that maintains and uses it.

What's a 6DOF ?


6 Degrees of Freedom, as opposed to 3 degrees of freedom, which would be a point mass simulation. 6DOF is really a term of art which means a simulation where you have to account for where it's pointing as well as where it's going. In reality, most 6DOFs have many more degrees of freedom than 6, including mine. (hundreds, actually)
