I see this as very much a reflection of what you see at University now a days. There is a very real feeling that one cannot even tolerate the existence of a public forum where someone is saying something that you don't agree with. This would be another example. It's not taking away their megaphone.....you don't even want them speaking.
That's what is being communicated. You cannot even allow the discourse. You cannot even allow someone to voice their thoughts, because it runs counter culture. You see this significantly more when their views are Conservative in nature. [Note: When I say "you", I do not refer to you personally Ghavrel, but a collective one speaking to the individual]. It has just gotten that much worse when H.Clinton lost, and one of the most inarticulate, spark-inducing individuals was elected instead.
Tolerance is not just living among people who act/look a certain way, but living among people who believe/say things that you don't agree with.

p.s.- Not that I Twitter, but I'm a firm believer that a retweet is tantamount to an endorsement. Same as linking an article. If it's not an endorsement, then the purpose is what? To start a mutual hate-circle-jerk? If it's merely discussion of a topic in which everyone feels the same way, then it really is just a hate-circle-jerk.
