I posted this article on Facebook today. Seems certain tick bites now transmit an allergy to all meat. A serious allergy. From one bite. Once confined to Texas, it has now spread to several other states.

Imagine having to stop eating meat forever! Ticks are loathsome creatures.


My husband hasn’t had meat (excluding fish) in 22 years. I have the occasional poultry, and bacon maybe a couple times a year. I really don’t miss it, but meat was never my favorite. Veganism is the horror scenario.

And yes, ticks are horrors. I am so very happy to live in a climate where they aren’t much of an issue. Very different from the Midwest I grew up in, where an innocent walk in the prairie could mean a dozen little bloodsuckers clinging to your legs.
