The Wheel of Time is obviously a great series that many of us enjoyed reading over the years, but there were elements to the storyline that left me feeling disinterested at certain points.
What were some of the particular plot lines or story arcs that you really disliked or wish would've been out of the story all together? I don't mean characters, or RJ's writing style, etc. Specifically, what parts of the story itself.
Other then that... find a bit boring, annoying, dragy, or just an underwhelming payoff? Sure, but "dislike"... That is more for bits and pieces. Like the oddness of Rand setting out on some seemingly long walkabout right before becoming a father. Or hell, LTT seemingly not remembering that he WAS a father... Or RJ seemingly not really understanding what "having kids" means... Then there are just all the seemingly random little details that rub me wrong like Gateways auto-killing constructs.
But actual PLOT... The only other kinda ploty thing that comes to mind, was perhaps the only REAL suspension of disbelief issue I ever had with WoT. That being how Rand lost his hand... I mean, WTF? o_o
Given what we have seen One Power fireballs do throughout the books("fun" things like flash incinerating both horse and rider leaving nothing but bits of molten steel) that must of been the most laser guided fireball in the history of ever... Just what was she even trying to "do" with that? If she wasn't trying to kill him, she was using WAY too much firepower. While if she wasn't, well then, she was using FAR too little.
And the whole mess could of been gotten around by simply NOT having his hand get directly hit by it.
