If you don't enjoy the first, I dunno, two hundred or so pages of Game of Thrones, I'm not sure why you would start to enjoy it later. It's not one of those 'you've got to give it time' series like for instance the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Most people, I think, would rate the third book the highest, but that's just because it has many of the most spectacular and dramatic plot twists, not because it reads very differently from books one or two.

Have you watched - and enjoyed - the TV show at all?
