I got a hint for you....
It sucks.
Keep your head up, and remember that they do everything for a reason. It may not be apparent while you're going through the torture, but there is a reason for all of it. 99% of what you'll go through is mental...because anyone can do the physical stuff with enough time. Go into it with a never quit mentality and you'll be fine.
Oh, and standing out...while it can get you accolades, also gets you punished. In my platoon of....I don't know...70 or so, only one person never got IT. The squad leaders and guide got it almost daily (often several times a day). The takeaway here? The easiest way to survive is to not get noticed.
