It is Thursday morning at 8 AM right now. I'm enjoying a fabulous cup of Vanilla Macadamia Nut coffee made by myself with beans from Hawaii. There is a thick layer of fog hugging the 50+ ft pine trees that populate the neighborhood so thickly you'd think it was off the grid. The changing leaves are muted by the fog and made even more surreal by it. We moved from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, the sun-baked warm soft sandy beaches with a constant breeze to keep them perfectly comfortable, the blue sky with tiny puff of clouds and hardly ever even cover with a thunderstorm. Yep we moved. From that. To the way out of the way, quiet as a pine forest, stretch of wilderness near a small town called Silverdale, WA. I'm loving it. The air is brisk in the morning. The truck is covered with dew so thick I nearly need to towel it down every morning. The sounds are so soft. A murmuring from the pines as the winds move them about. Neighborhood dogs barking to each other until the owners bring them inside. nearly silent until the kids are home from school and pollute the air with squeals and laughter. My new little house has me enchanted. It is much smaller, i didn't know how much I would like that. Our kitchen is half the size, and I find it much more functional and easier to clean. We only have one bathroom now, but we are all learning how to juggle around that. One less bathroom to clean I suppose. I am concerned that we have too much stuff now. That we will need to clean out and get rid of extraneous material crap. Darn! ;) I most look forward to getting my couch back. I miss the piled on snuggle with my family in the evening. And I want my bike. I want to take my pup through the base exploring with it. We walk, but don't get as far as he'd like. My son insisted on getting a sled when we ventured into town to the Target. He is getting ready for snow. I don't even know if we get snow here or how much. He is set now though. I will miss all the warmth of Hawaii. And I hope to visit again often if I can. I am ready to be here though. I am happy to be out of the city. The quiet is a nice change.

Oh... Sounds so heavenly! Lived in Hawaii and Oregon both for a while some years ago, and if I were to come back to the States I'd probably opt for Oregon or Washington. There's something magical there that just puts your soul at peace.
