There was once another world.
A world without a moon to mitigate the darkness.
A world without beautiful, benevolent elves.
A world without skillful, steadfast dwarves.
A world without sturdy, long-sleeping trolls.
A world now understood most imperfectly.
A lost world barely remembered.
It was the world before this one;
this boundless monument to Alexanderon's might.
There was once another world, now dead.
Arianna it was called.

- A poem attributed to Alvis Junkin, the famed scholar and inventor of All Speech, a now defunct language.
