As some of you may know, before Andrew (ascott4321) and I were married, we were long distance the whole time we were dating. There was a summer that I stayed with him and his family but typically one or the other would visit every 3-4 months. This all happened from 2007-2011, when we finally tied the knot and now we're together for good! Yay!

Before the Fall semester began in 2010, Andrew came to visit me in Stillwater, OK for a week or so. We went out to eat, cooked each other dinner, and planned on going to the Rancher's Club for a fancy dinner out one night that week.

Well, the night of the fancy dinner came around and I wasn't feeling all that well. So, I had mentioned maybe we should just stay home and watch a movie or something. But, Andrew was insistent and I just ended up pumping myself full of ibuprofen to feel a bit better.

As I'm getting ready and putting on my little black dress, pearl earrings and fixing my hair and makeup... Andrew begins to tell me how wonderful and beautiful I am. This isn't something he's never done before so I'm smiling and thanking him and trying to finish getting ready.

Then, he stops me doing anything so I really pay attention and gets down on one knee. At this point, I just think he's being silly (Before the trip he told me he couldn't get me a ring and for consolation I would get a pair of earrings. Those earrings are now referred to as the Earrings of Deception). He begins to search a bit in his suitcase and pulls out a ring box.

I don't really remember the exact details of what he said but he said something to the effect of wanting to spend the rest of his life with me and all other loving things that I love to hear.. and I exclaim, "Nuh uh!!" I was so shocked because he said he hadn't had the time to get an engagement ring (We had been talking about getting engaged for quite a while).

Of course I said yes! We made out quite a bit and then went to the Rancher's Club to eat dinner... and the food was amazing, of course (Highly recommend it if you're ever in Stillwater, OK, by the way). It was one of the best dates ever and I'm glad he forced me to go even though I was feeling a little awful.

Earrings of Deception ^_^
I like that!
Those long distance relationships never work.
Awesome; congrats once again to both of you, and may your happiness grow without limit. The moral of the story is: The sicker the girl, the more likely she is to say yes. Oh, italsohelpsifshe'sinlovewithyou. :P
