Giving up.

Uni has been messing for weeks now. They've changed the demands for getting accepted - only for teaching students in English in Gothenburg, and I've been calling and mailing and calling and mailing to find a way around this. Still - the outcome seems to be the same. The 180 credits (6 fulltime semester) that I've taken count for nothing while I don't have those 7,5 in which you learn to compare English and Swedish.

Still the university where I'm taking the last semester of English right now is much more agreeable, and actually try to help me instead of just being arrogant, so I've decided to try to get in there instead in spring. And while I won't need to finish the last English course this semester then, I've decided to slow down from 150& speed to 75 %.

In a way it's nice - I've been up so early and studied so much lately - not even grammar is fun anymore. And I'm just tired and stupid. Incredibly stupid. And I'm short with people, and I'm lousy at my job, while I'm half asleep all the time, and my apartment is a mess and I dont care, and I am a mess, and I dont care about that either.

So even though I mainly feel lousy for giving up this easily, I feel a bit relieved about finally getting the chance to sleep for a full night and not feeling stressed out.

And I guess the people claiming that 75% dayjob, 150 % studyspeed and an extra teachingjob isn't a realistic combination were kind of right. But if this whole demand-business hadn't showed up I would so have made it through the semester!

I could be wrong, but I don't think that's called giving up.
I think it's accepting that you're human and that, sometimes, we have to let life move at a normal pace. I think you'll have much more fun with it once you've given yourself a little space.
*hugs*
You're doing the right thing, I think.

I can see from your words that you already feel relieved- and that can't be bad.

^_^
You sure are messed up

Thinking grammar is the most fun part of language? That's crazy right there.

Also, enjoy life now that you get a chance to have one :)
Thanks!!! All three of you!
And how could grammar not be the most fun part of a language? It's awesome!
That's certainly not giving up
That's driving your nose into the grindstone and realizing you're starting to lose your eyeballs. You're just leaning up a bit so that you don't go blind :P
I like your way of thinking. *NM*
