1) How often do you replay old games?
Frequently. A really good old game is like an old favourite movie or book, and will stand up to repeated revisits.
2) What types of games are you more likely to replay?
Most types. I replay STACRAFT, GROUND CONTROL and HOSTILE WATERS (all in the RTS genre) every 3-4 years or so, same for the HALF-LIFE series (FPS). However, RPGs like ANACHRONOX, FF7, KotOR 1 & 2 and the BALDUR'S GATE series are more rewarding due to their sheer lengths and different endings.
3) What is your favorite game to replay?
Difficult to say. Probably FREESPACE 2, a space combat sim so perfect that it completely killed stone-dead the rest of the genre since there was nowhere else for it to go.
4) What makes it so replay-able?
Even with the original graphics, not counting the recent upgrade mods, it still looks great and the storyline is still one of the ballsiest things I've ever come across in the game. You get to the last few missions and still can't believe the writers went that insane.
5) Would you repurchase an old game so you could play it?
Already done so
Even with the ScummVM emulator I was having problems getting THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND to work, so snapped up the new remake edition last year without any qualms, and will be doing the same for MONKEY ISLAND 2 in a couple of months.
