I believe I saw another article saying that they'd patched the DRM to allow offline mode without losing any progress. I'm not sure on the details of that, but at the very least, they're making changes in response to player feedback. More like covering their you-know-whats after people yelled at them, but whatever.
You still have to be phoned home constantly in order to play.
Not good enough.

Steam is a form of DRM, but notice that Ubi doesn't have legions of fans like Valve does.
