Probably because they're afraid to actually commit to a design for them; it'd be qutie challenge to get right.

None of the alien races have women portrayed, actually. Unless you count Rachni. Krogan, Salarian, and Turian women even get mentioned a lot.


On Tuchanka, there is an ambassador/envoy from the female camps who sounds MUCH different from the males, though looks similar enough. And, at least in the case of Salarians, an excuse is given that only about 10% are females, and they're the higher echelon.

Also - are quarians not an alien race? But yeah, you're right - volus and elcor both also have only males shown, but they are only shown on the Citadel (except for the elcor bouncer on Omega).

I feel like there was a female batarian somewhere in ME 1.
