Wow. I couldn't have had a different experience. MonCul Send a noteboard - 30/01/2010 11:58:32 PM
My main complaint with both games is that I absolutely loathe the combat. If I could have pressed a button to kill all enemies, I gladly would have done it at every opportunity. Personal preference for the most, really, as I hate FPSes (which this is close enough to during combat), and I hate cover / fire mechanics. I almost didn't beat the first game because of the combat. Thankfully they have Very Easy mode in the second, which is good, because it's much closer to a "Win" button. I'd still rather have god mode.

Very Easy also brings hints up more quickly, which is another one of my complaints. First of all, I often have absolutely no clue where I'm supposed to go next, and end up just waiting around until the hint system tells me. I ended up using a walk through for the first game at about six separate points, and I'm about to break it out for the first time on the second game, as I'm currently in a building being attacked by a helicopter. I'm in a room with no exits, and if I stay too long, I die. Whoo, it's so fucking fun.

I played both games on Hard mode from the get go and never got to a point where I had to use a walkthrough. I don't recall getting stuck with absolutely no idea where to go but once or twice throughout both games. In fact I very rarely used the hints when I had the option. It was definitely a challenge, but in a good way. Some parts got pretty tough, the end boss battles in each game especially, and I died quite a bit, but I had fun doing it and I thought all in all that the combat was balanced very well.

I did not like how it auto-saves, which can put you in some tough situations. Like in the middle of a courtyard with enemies coming down at you from almost all sides and half a clip in your AK-47, or your helicopter scenario. That was a problem with the first game especially, but half a dozen deaths in a row before you figure out how to escape and move on wasn't a deal breaker by any means. Shit, I've been doing that since Sumper Mario Bros.

I think I'm one of the only PS3 owners in existence who doesn't like the Uncharted games. - 30/01/2010 10:38:34 PM 500 Views

It's REALLY frustrating to play Uncharted 2 and AC2 at the same time - 01/02/2010 12:12:07 AM 459 Views
I was playing both at the same time too, and that was a mistake. - 01/02/2010 03:18:31 PM 437 Views
