The Old Republic is a Star Wars MMO being developed by KoToR creators Bioware that is going to be, IMHO, the greatest MMO yet made. First of all, it is Star Wars, and secondly, it is being made by Bioware, so unlike Galaxies we know it is going to be done right. Thirdly, The Old Republic is going to be fully voiced over with hundreds of thousands of lines of professional dialogue and with every single playable and npc character having their own voice. Lastly, the game is going to be completely story driven. Every single quest is going to tie into the story. No more kill x " "s or gather x " "s quests. Every choice you make in every situation will have real consequences for your character's story, and unlike KoToR and other Bioware games you can't just save and go through each choice.

I've been following this game on their website, www.swtor.com, for quite a while now and it is definitely worth looking into if you are a star wars fan, or just a fan of MMO's in general. The website is run by the official developers so it has all the news before anyone else, it has a webcomic that is of decent quality, and it has forums for any star wars nerd looking to discuss star wars lore or how they are going to take over the galaxy once The Old Republic comes out.

Unfortunately Bioware is yet to give a tentative release date yet, though I expect it by the end of 2010 at the earliest. I'll post the link to the website if anyone is interested, and feel free to share your thoughts about the game. I'm always up for any star wars related discussion...
