Is it just me though, or does it reward extreme caution? Seems to me like a time limit for each "tier" would help. As it is there's no real incentive not to just stand in the middle, and fire a shot straight up when you're sure to hit three or four shapes. No reason to take chances, really. I mean I know people can and do anyway (more fun that way ) but seems to me the game should actively encourage it.
