Should I buy a gaming PC? EDIT A Deathwatch Guard Send a noteboard - 27/11/2009 09:27:50 PM
The computer I'm using now is by no means bad - it ran Oblivion fairly well, on medium settings - but it's been having video card issues so it isn't really any good for video games anymore. It still works fine for everything else though... Now, onward to my dilemma.

Basically, the only games I currently want a new PC for are Dragon Age: Origins and Fallout 3 (and Oblivion, if you include older games). All of these games can also be found on the 360 though, so would there be a noticeable difference in quality between playing them on there and on the PC?

The PC has mods, I know, and that's definitely a big plus, but most likely I won't get too into that. The only mods I'd really be interested in are ones to fix existing problems in the game, like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul mod for Oblivion, because I absolutely hated how everything was level based in the game. Are there any problems of the sort in Dragon Age or Fallout 3?

I've been debating this issue with myself for a while now, but with my personality I would continue doing that until everything dropped in price and there would be i20 processor computers out... So I'd appreciate some input. :)

EDIT: Thanks to everyone for their responses and input. I am reasonably certain that I'll be getting a new computer now, just possibly at lower specs than I initially considered.

However, so far no one has answered my other question, and the one that actually related to the Games Message Board.... Is there a difference in quality between the 360 and PC versions of the games, or any problems in them that would make mods highly important? Thank you again!

You can get max settings on all games at 1680x1050 res for about 5-600, including monitor. - 28/11/2009 01:38:46 AM 590 Views
