Well the world is ending in 2012 anyway, so it's a bit of a moot point, but I don't see any reason why Blizzard would stop updating WoW in five more years. I think they'll milk that cash cow as long as they can, and I think they should be able to get at least a dozen more expansions out of it.
It came out a while ago, before any of the expansions had been done or even announced. It claimed to be a leaked expansion plan for WoW. It correctly predicted Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, and then predicted a Naga-based expansion for the third one. That's turned out partly correct (Azshara is part of Cataclysm), but it didn't predict the Cataclysm or Deathwing as far as I know.
Anyway, if there's any truth to that leaked plan and if Blizzard is still sticking to it, then there would be two more expansions after Cataclysm -- one for the Emerald Dream, and one for the final showdown with the Burning Legion, which I guess might involve a full on invasion of Azeroth like in the War of the Ancients.
My personal guess, however, is that there will be three more expansions after Cataclysm, each one bumping the level cap up by five until they reach level 100, where they will stop producing major new content and stick to smaller updates, maintaining the servers and just letting the game run for however many years it takes for everyone to leave.

I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, but I suspect there might have been some exaggeration.
