Unfortunately I don't think enough people will stay away. I do think that the next console generation base will be more evenly distributed because of Microsofts bungling of those issues. The Xbox One won't have the huge edge in sales that the 360 has over the PS3.
Aaaaaaand Microsoft does a 180. No more phone-home, used game restrictions, etc.
