But when it comes to Steam, the major difference is that even though games can't be traded, they are as cheap or cheaper than anything that can be bought used. According to the latest update, it might be getting share functionality anyway, it has always permitted offline play, certainly has no Kinect, and hasn't made a string of ludicrous statements. And all of that is more than enough to make me forgive it for being a form of DRM, or not allowing a used game market. If anything, Steam makes me think even less of Microsoft, because it means that Microsoft was not trailblazing a new method of doing things, simply fucking up an already well established and successful one.
