I played it when it first came out, on a BBC B and it was the experience in gaming that I have rarely had since - complete immersion. Black and white wireframe graphics, hyperspace jumps, grinding the money to put Beam lasers on the side views and never using them again, my first ever experience of an attempt at a 3D radar Lave to Qutiri then Qutiri to Isinor, trading computers and food until I could afford a docking computer.... The list is endless. The game was so bold and big and so unlike everything else that had come before and I really don't think anything after has had as big an impact on my gameplaying psyche.
Elite. Archangel Anderson was the man....
