And your impression does seem to be correct, as far as I can tell. There are lots of shooters of various kinds, fighting games, racing games, sports games, none of which I have any interest in, but which I imagine would be better suited for consoles simply because consoles typically offer a better multiplayer experience if you have people over at your house. It's easier to have multiple controllers than multiple keyboards and mice (if that's even possible), plus you play on the much larger tv instead of the monitor, and so on.
Personally, I never had a problem with using a controller to play games. I recognize that the mouse is probably more precise, but if anything, that seems like a downside to PC gaming for me. It feels like cheating somehow, lol. Not to mention that I absolutely abhor games where the only means of moving my character is by clicking on a distant point and watching him travel there. When I control a character with a controller, I feel much more involved in whatever is happening, and the controller becomes an extension of me. I never quite get that with a mouse and keyboard, although as long as they don't feature that click and move mechanic, I have no problem with them.
