My favourites, besides old classics like Clue or Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit, are probably Citadels and of course Settlers of Catan.

I really love Ticket to Ride though I've only played the original version rather than Europe. It's a very nice mix of chance and tactics, and good with two players or more. I think I slightly prefer when there are more players as places that have two paths between them right next to each other can be used, but only one path can be put down with two players so it's harder. I'm not sure that'll make any sense but where you can go is limited with two players as otherwise it'd be too easy.

Anyway. As you go along, you learn which places you need to grab as soon as you can as if you miss that route between two places, going around takes many turns and many cards/carriages.

I've played it in person, on my laptop and on my phone - it's pretty addictive.
