Not because it's a bad game - because it's not - but because it brought nothing new to the table, and everything it did, AC2 or Brotherhood had already done better. AC2 already brought us the amazing leap in quality, pacing, and storytelling, and set the bar high. Brotherhood already gave us the best open city of the series, and handled the whole training and recruiting assassins thing with much better pacing and believability.
Revelations was inferior to those two in every way, and the story was by far the least compelling of the series.
