I'm happy to have broken the habit. Nate Send a noteboard - 27/09/2012 08:47:06 PM
The game doesn't do it for me like it used to, but for a little bit I found myself still coming back to it now and then regardless. I don't like being addicted to a thing, so happily I've now been a year without playing and don't feel any desire to return for new content.

I know in my heart that I would go through the same cycle I did with Cataclysm — play through the new high level content; check out the new race's zone and then leave the character unlevelled beyond that; get excited about doing dailies and getting money and gearing up for heroics; play a few heroics and get bored; try to level up some of the dozens of characters I've started and left behind over the years; quit; keep coming back every couple months just to learn there was nothing I actually wanted to do.

It was unsatisfying last time for me, so I'm glad to be clear of it and to find that I don't even need to resist or restrain myself because I really don't feel any pull to play it now. These days my relaxation comes from writing, watching baseball, and playing a couple hours of Lord of the Rings Online on weekends.

Goddamit, Warcraft, why do you have to be so, so, so... habituating?! (yes, I got MoP and re-subbed) - 27/09/2012 02:54:53 PM 907 Views
If you really want encouragement to quit, just remember that none of what you earn is real. *NM* - 27/09/2012 03:46:55 PM 349 Views
I play to have fun, not "get stuff". - 27/09/2012 04:57:04 PM 656 Views
