Started playing BM earlier this week. My only real complaint is how they gimped the jump height.

As a result, you have to hold crouch for pretty much every jump.
If I had to nitpick about anything else, I'd mention the meat locker segment. Unless I missed an obvious solution, the game required that I left the crates intact to stack up and reach a vent. They get destroyed pretty easily and don't respawn, so you could be SOL in some cases.
Otherwise, it's both a faithful recreation and interesting renovation of the venerable 1998 title. Even in 2012, it's apparent why HL was a game-changer for the FPS genre.
This is, of course, for better and worse. The scripted sequences were amazing in their time, and still can be, but the result is partly to blame for the current stagnation we're seeing in Generic Military Shooter #67. Its reliance on the player navigating puzzles remains pretty unique, though. It hides its linearity well by making the player hit many seemingly-dead ends, only to discover another way around, eventually reconnect to a previously restricted area, advance, etc.
I may chime in again when I'm finished, but it's impressing me so far as I press through "We've Got Hostiles."
