Final Fantasy VII on the other hand as a game of similar vintage I find near unplayable.
I really hate the early 3D games. I can forgive any graphics if it's a requirement of the game, so I'm find with the same level of graphics in, say, Super Mario 64 or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, because those games actually used the three dimensions. But FFVII and Chrono Cross gained nothing in exchange for those terrible graphics.
You know what RPG did use three dimensions though?
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
For the SNES.
And it looked way better.
