Sure it's fun running around for a little while in Zelda swinging the Wiimote and killing stuff, but it gets old quickly once you realize that almost every enemy in the game takes like 3 hits to kill. Even the bosses are incredibly easy. Most of the games are just like that in my experience. Metroid? It's fun for about 10 minutes to point the Wiimote at what you want to kill, then it just gets tiresome and you wish you had more precise controls. The EA sports games are all drastically scaled back because the system can't handle it, Punch-out is fun for about 2 hours, and then you've beat the game and there's nothing to bring you back.
I haven't played the Mario games, and plenty of the others, but every game I've played on there has left a lot to be desired.
On the other hand PS3 and Xbox have excellent 3rd party support. There are many new and old franchises on both systems that have excellent games. Just walking down the aisles at the store I usually see about 20 games for either system that I'd be interested in owning or playing. If I do the same for the Wii I usually see one...maybe two games that I'd want to play, and that's if I'm lucky.
