I haven’t posted on this MB for some time, since I’ve been doing so much gaming. I figured that I should play/finish some games and then talk about them (just for something for me to read while I’m at work). But, I just have too many games. I think that my family and friends teamed up to get me every game that I had my eye on…as such, here we go. What I got, and how its going.
- Batman: Arkham City
This was a fantastic game. And when I say fantastic, I totally mean that. In the spirit of Arkham Assalym, only bigger, the player gets a grander experience. The storyline was good. The cut scenes & voice acting throughout the game was great. I didn’t get 100% of the puzzles (yet), but I wouldn’t mind playing it again.
- Assassins Creed 2: Revelations
This was a fun game. I mean, if you’ve played one Assassin’s Creed, you’ve kind of played them all. However, the little things that were added (bomb crafting, back-flash storylines, and 1st person perspective work) helped to freshen it up a bit. The bet part of the entire game was the conclusion of the Altair and Etzio storylines.
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
I haven ‘t even played this game yet, since I don’t have one of those extra-special Wii controllers. But I plan on it.
- Mass Effect 2
So since I’m a Sony Fanboy, I have only recently started playing this series. Some of you may remember that me and Bioware were on a timeout, since Dragon Age so turned me off. Well, this game has ended that time-off, and we’re making out on the regular now. I’m really enjoying this game, and I plan on it being my 100% goal game. I see that the third one is coming out soon…so I better get on it.
- Final Fantasy XIII.2
So I just picked this one up last night. Now I *love* the Final Fantasy series….from the main titles to Tactics…and I can even tolerate the Girl Power X-2. However, I wasn’t a big fan of XIII…it was ok. But it just didn’t have the grab, appeal, or emotional whatever that I expect from an FF title. Well after a few hours of playing XIII.2….that world (Cocoon and Pulse) has been somewhat redeemed. The new gameplay is good. It basically has taken (so far) all the fresh things from the XIII, and modified it with some tried & true methods from previous titles. We’ll see if the rest of it can hold up. But I must say, I *already* hate the music….and I’m only a few hours in.

FF-XIII is actually a lot of fun if you go into it with the right expectations.
