i finished it recently and i found it allright Yunalesca Send a noteboard - 25/09/2009 11:30:36 AM
I put down some good money on a PS2 (because for some unfathomable reason the PS3 doesn't play PS2 games) and bought Final Fantasy 12. I loved FF 7&8, 9 was to kiddy for me and I loved 10. And I haven't played a FF in game for so long. I was positively drooling to play a new one, which accounts for my regrettable decision of buying a PS2 just for one game.

So the verdict...bleh. What a letdown. I don't know if FF magic has dulled on me, but the storyline for FF 12 was boring as hell. I didn't care for any characters and thats saying something for a FF game. What am I missing here?

untill after mount bur thingamy bob. after that the pacing was fairly crappy. it was a very disapointing game, i hated ashe's costume, the espers and quickenings were bad aeon and over drive knockoffs and the bosses were eviliy hard and half the time had nothing to do with the story line. Firemane any one? the magicks (!) were fairly useless after you got your guys above a certain level. holy and sourge were let downs and the lack of watera and waterga was weird. plus loads of enemies were weak to earth attacks, but there wasn't a quake spell and earth aligned waepons were few and far between...

that being said it did have a few redeaming features, balthier for one (phwoar!), the necrohol was suitably creepy but damn hard, the tutorials wern't overly long and finaly you can skip the cut scenes.

I will have to disagree with this... - 26/09/2009 08:20:46 AM 601 Views
Exactly. When I think story here, I think of the individual stories as well as the whole. - 26/09/2009 07:13:24 PM 718 Views
Still, it's good for a videogame story. - 26/09/2009 07:54:01 PM 638 Views
I agree, with caveat. - 26/09/2009 11:54:25 PM 752 Views
New games do not feature the storytelling prowess of good TV, films, or novels. - 28/09/2009 01:03:46 AM 663 Views
I disagree. Maybe you're playing the wrong games. *NM* - 28/09/2009 04:51:48 AM 318 Views
