Skyrim is $60, GTA 4 is $15ish. If you can afford a sixty dollar game, why not buy several cheaper ones? If you're willing to buy used (and you should be, as "like new" games on Amazon are literally named), you can get 4-6 big name, AAA titles for the cost of one copy of Skyrim. Since you haven't owned a 360 before, you don't need to buy the newest stuff, just play the old greats on the cheap. :)


Buying used us definitely the way to go. I rarely buy new games, but of course the fun isn't diminished by the price you pay for a game.
