I love Warhammer, but I have no idea how players afford it

So. freaking. expensive.
The few times I played it- it was AWESOME- I spent forever making my armies. One was a human army defending a castle, with some excellent catapults and a sweet wizard that I put on a flying horse that threw down flasks of acid on people. In 40k, I don't quite remember what I used- a hodgepodge of Imperium units, I think, with some extremely effectively used snipers.
But, yeah. We were using my roommate's cousin's old figurines. I looked up the prices for some new stuff, and just one squad was like 30 bucks. Considering the army I fielded had like 9 squads, not counting a few special vehicles and special units (soldiers in giant, indestructible armor? That sounds familiar), there's no way I could have afforded to do the kind of army creation and mix 'n' matching I would have wanted.

I amuse myself.
Any tabletop gamers present?

That's better than having a big wet pile in your drawers somewhere. *NM*

Ever since we got the Dwarven Forge boxes, it's mostly power-gaming to be honest

$200 is chump change for entertainment hobbies.

It's not insane, but I'm the kind of person who would want to play with a variety of armies
