Seems to me from playing it that if you want more Katamari Damacy, then you should buy it. If you don't want more of the same, don't. I mean, the graphics are new and cell shaded and crisp, and they've added a few more unique level types, and I'm sure there's other stuff, too, but it's still basically just more Katamari Damacy.
