yes, but I still don't think you'll see prices come up high LadyLorraine Send a noteboard - 04/08/2011 11:40:14 PM
and, again, nor should they. I shouldn't have to pay the same price for a new game as I pay for an old game that I have already played.

Yes. If you increase the availability, you will have people buying the game who have never played it, despite its age. I have done this myself on GOG. But do you know why I went ahead and bought them? Because they were CHEAP. When I have a bunch of new games that I have a more vested interest in playing, I'm not going to use that same money to buy an old game.

The other thing is, too, by increasing the availability, you are increasing the supply. By making it downloadable, you essentially make the availability infinite. They will never run out of copies. Yes, more people will want it, but that doesn't erase the fact that they now have infinite copies of the game at no manufacturing cost. They're not making CDs, burning them, wrapping them, shipping them, etc...etc... I don't want to pay them those costs.

then, of course, you have the struggle with older games of making sure they work with modern systems. The #1 reason I have not bought KOTOR is because I've been told by many people that it runs poorly on Windows 7.

Depending on the game, $5-10 is perfect for me - 03/08/2011 05:46:43 PM 471 Views

Varies wildly on the game. 2D ages much better than 3D. - 03/08/2011 10:38:13 PM 454 Views
I would basically agree with this. *NM* - 04/08/2011 03:06:30 AM 191 Views
