re: steam scalius Send a noteboard - 08/06/2011 04:14:52 PM
I have little knowledge of steam, as I've never used it. As such I didn't realize I was making any attack against it. I'm generally against having a digital download vs having a disc/cartidge.

Reading what Wibble posted to you, I have to say that the clause he points out ensures that I will likely never use Steam. As I understand it if they choose to close shop voluntarily or involuntarily, you as the consumer are fucked.

My basic attitude is that once I purchase the product (ie:game) nobody should have control over how and when I use that product except me. I have to believe that part (maybe a large part) of this DRM nonsense is about forcing every player to buy a particular game in order to play it, rather than friends sharing that game amongst themselves, as it used to be. We are slowly, but surely, losing control over our purchases.
I would slave, to pave the way, to sink your ship of fools.

Very few of those have anything to do with Steam, which you both recklessly conflate with DRM. - 07/06/2011 11:59:20 PM 490 Views
