Will it be okay to just spray it in through the vents or will I need to disassemble the bottom of my laptop to allow the dust to escape?
It's better to open the laptop. Also, make sure the fan can't move when you clean the thing, it might break if you do not (the fans aren't designed to spin with the kind of speed spraying it with compressed air would cause it to spin with).
EDIT: Aemon has a valid point about the warranty though.

My old one would overheat playing SC. Turns out it just needed a good dusting (compressed air). *NM*

Almost certainly something clogging the fan. Get some compressed air and clean it out. *NM*

Frankly, there's no way that a clean computer playing WoW should overheat, period.
