I don't think the difficulty is because of the actual rhythm difficulty but actually the delay from hitting the drums to the game recognizing the hits. It was a pain in the asssssss playing because I knew I hit the rhythms right but it still said I was wrong. I have plenty of friends who can play them better than me but that's cause they just play a lot and got used to the delay. So my suggestion if you want to get better is to just keep playing to get accustomed to the delay.
And if there were really 5 drums on easy, that song must be f-ing hard on expert.

Is it just me or are the Guitar Hero / Rock Band drums pretty hard to play even on "Easy"?

I've only played Rock Band on one occasion, but the drums seemed to come pretty naturally.

I always just assumed that I was bad at it because I lack rhythm.

Haven't played the drums on it, but I'd guess it's something you need to get used to.
