Re: playing final fantasy xii Japhy Send a noteboard - 17/03/2011 06:56:33 PM
I am only 4 hours into the game right now. I thought the cut scenes and gameplay at the beginning of the game watching the imperial army take over the kingdom was really cool. The cutscenes remind me of star wars for some reason but not in a bad way. The music is very nice and the battle system seemed way too easy at first but I think its a real challenge right now. I messed with the first dinosaur i saw and got whacked. It hit me with 9 times the force of my max hp which surprised me enough that I cast libra all the time now so I don't pick a fight with something I can't deal with. I am currently in the sewers I think and I lost the girl that Vaan was with earlier and I have to infiltrate the castle.

I do have to say that I am really amped to get into this game more and see what I can do. Anyways.......

Does anyone have a few tricks I can use that will help me on the way through the game? I haven't played a final fantasy game the whole way through since 8 so I might need some help staying motivated.

Is there any special way to buy the liscences that I get points for. Should I try to specialize or go for an all around approach. I noticed that the last time I leveled up I got enough to buy 2 new squares. Will this be the norm throughout the game?

Any hints that might help with a hard boss thats coming my way in the next week here? and finally.....
how long is this game? Will i be dissapointed that it was short or will I be 2 weeks into playing and just wanna give up cause it won't end? Hey thanks all.

Lots of drinking. Vaan's voice is the most annoying thing in any final fantasy game I've ever played. I stopped playing because of the voice acting and the combat system was really boring and impersonal and the summoning was just stupid.

It would be good to have specializations. Fran is obviously good with magic. A ranged character is good for flying monsters and to get that first hit on a strong monster. Just like with the other FFs you probably want a magician/medic, attack specialist, and defense specialist/medic. There are weapons and equipment that correspond well to these roles so trying to be all around just takes too long to get the awesome stuff earlier on.

I did like the hunts. That part was pretty fun, even if some were very time consuming.

Or skip the spear. It's not exactly important. *NM* - 19/03/2011 07:18:19 PM 356 Views
