I played wii with a few friends last weekend and started to enjoy the idea of movement based gaming. Now, since I have an Xbox and certainly won't buy another console, I started looking into the kinect on amazon. People seem to be rather positive about it. What are your experiences? Does it react well? Do you need a lot of space? Are the games that are out for it fun?

The biggest knock against it is the space required for use. Apparently if you don't have a space about 6 feet away from the camera it becomes a bit glitchy and less accurate.

What's funny is I keep hearing some magazine/website writers complaining about the space, but I think they must all live in narrow big city apartments. I've never in my life had such a small amount of space as some of these people complain their living rooms have.

I mean, I don't have the biggest apartment, but with a small amount of effort I could clear a space big enough for it to work just fine I'm sure.
