If you do return the card, these are the cards I would recommend (links inside to newegg) Roland00 Send a noteboard - 01/11/2010 02:32:23 AM
SAPPHIRE 5750 1GB gddr5
$114.99 with FS, 99.99 after MIR

MSI GTS 450 1GB gddr5
$119.99 with FS, 94.99 after MIR
* Free Gift: Nvidia Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 Game Coupon - Gift PC Game (value:$49.99)
* Free Gift: Nvidia Gift - Civilization V upgrade coupon to Deluxe Version (value:$9.99)

While the HD5770 is a great card I can't really recommend it at its current price. On newegg the cheapest is $145 if you are going to spend 150 you might as well get the gtx460 768mb which is 150 to 180 and is a better card.

Galaxy GTX 460 768 mb gddr5
$159.99+7.56 Shipping, $139.99+7.56 Shipping after MIR

When I refer to the 460 I am referring to the 768mb model

Higher frames rates rate are better. Lower dollars per frame are better

1680x1050 Crysis
HD5670 16.9 Frame Rate 101/16.9=5.97 dollars per frame
HD5750 25.1 Frame Rate 115/25.1=4.58 dollars per frame
GTS450 24.7 Frame Rate 120/24.7=4.86 dollars per frame
HD5770 28.6 Frame Rate 145/28.6=5.06 dollars per frame
GTX460 37.6 Frame Rate 160/37.6=4.25 dollars per frame

1680x1050 Mass Effect 2
HD5670 32.3 Frame Rate 101/32.3=3.13 dollars per frame
HD5750 43.7 Frame Rate 115/43.7=2.63 dollars per frame
GTS450 48.3 Frame Rate 120/48.3=2.48 dollars per frame
HD5770 48.5 Frame Rate 145/48.5=2.99 dollars per frame
GTX460 67.1 Frame Rate 160/67.1=2.38 dollars per frame

1680x1050 HAWX
HD5670 40.0 Frame Rate 101/40.0=2.53 dollars per frame
HD5750 59.0 Frame Rate 115/59.0=1.95 dollars per frame
GTS450 69.0 Frame Rate 120/69.0=1.74 dollars per frame
HD5770 69.0 Frame Rate 145/69.0=2.10 dollars per frame
GTX460 97.0 Frame Rate 160/97.0=1.65 dollars per frame

1680x1050 Dirt 2
HD5670 32.1 Frame Rate 101/32.1=3.15 dollars per frame
HD5750 44.4 Frame Rate 115/44.4=2.59 dollars per frame
GTS450 47.5 Frame Rate 120/47.5=2.53 dollars per frame
HD5770 50.8 Frame Rate 145/50.8=2.85 dollars per frame
GTX460 67.5 Frame Rate 160/67.5=2.37 dollars per frame

So based off these results I would recommend the MSI GTS450 which is only 18 dollars more than what you paid and even cheaper after rebate, or the Palit/Galaxy GTX 460.

Full disclosure I am an ATI fanboy who has an ati 4890 (had a total of 3 crossfire 4890 in the past, bought 2 and won the 3rd, eventually sold the 2nd and 3rd). That said I am recommending the nvidia geforce for they are great cards and are better bang for your buck right now. Now if you install an nvidia card instead of the ati card you may return make sure to uninstall the old ati drivers before installing the new nvidia drivers.
