I don't know if it is a girl thing. I love killing the minor bad guys. Hacking and slashing is an excellent way of getting rid of pent-up aggression and (I am convinced) keeps one from acting out one's violent tendencies in real life.
But I do not see the point of bosses. They just increase my stress levels. They are evil and damned impossible to kill.
Bosses and things that have to be done in a set amount of time. I hate those.
I suspect someone must like them, since all the RPG style games I come across seem to have them. But why? Ack.
This rant brought to you by Illusion of Time (or Illusion of Gaia for you Americans, I think).
On a side note. My man and I have been having a discussion. I like Illusion of Time. He prefers Soul Blazer. I say the graphics in Soul Blazer makes me lose interest. He says I should learn to see beyond that because it is a much better (by which I assume he means larger) game. I say if I want a larger game I'll just play Chrono Trigger, which also has perfect graphics.

It depends on the type of boss. There are two broad categories, one of which you'd probably enjoy.
