I started off enjoying it. I even did a few missions with my previous boss (we're both pretty big Star Trek and Stargate nerds). I enjoyed it for awhile. After a couple weeks or so it gets to be pretty dull. I don't know how WoW is (I only tried the 7 day free trial), but STO just rehashes the same missions over and over. The only thing that really changed were (1) the planet/system (2) the names of the enemies, and (3) the rewards. I didn't expect every mission to be completely unique and edge of my seat thrilling, but I did expect a bit more variety. My boss actually made it all the way to Admiral while I stalled out around Lieutenant Commander (he had 4 weeks while I was in Haiti to play on his own or I'm sure I would have stayed about even with his progress for awhile). He quickly grew bored with the game after reaching the higher levels too. I'm glad I played and I may end up getting a game card from time to time, but I really am glad I didn't get the $80 package when my wife suggested it. I told her that if I played it enough to justify spending $80 plus the subscription fee she would be more pissed at me than when I stay up all night playing my 360 through the weekend. Lol.
I'd give it about 6.2 out of 10 stars.

Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

I'm thinking about playing a science officer, with a lot of tactical bridge officers
