I got to Orzammar and just didn't care about playing anymore. I think it's because I had less control over the console version of the movement of my party, so I could never truly be strategic.

I eventually lowered the difficulty to Easy and just said "Get 'er done."

Great ending, I really did get attached to most of the characters, even though Leliana was not my type of friend or lover and I got Oghren way too late to bond with him. The main problem with this game is that certain characters only join after you start (and in many cases must finish) their areas, so you might have playthroughs where you never get to meet Zevran or Sten. I let the latter die; because he annoyed me.

I also won that fight while rescuing Anora, and got the Sun Sword as a reward! Too bad I didn't get to use it. Amerasu jokes can be made at any time btw.

Oh, and by the way, I think you might have missed the part where the game tells you to access Advanced Options in the menu ring to be able to call upon your allies during the Battle at Fort Dakon. You go to Advanced Options, select the faction you need to assist you, you hear a horn, and they come trotting up to you. Except the mages. They sort of stroll towards you. It's not their fault, though, since they are wearing fugly robes.
